About us

I’m Ernesta – the founder of Wagging Tail, a dark-haired dreamer with charcoal eyes and a heart that has always belonged to animals. My childhood summers were spent surrounded by the many creatures my grandmother raised – dogs, cats, chickens, lambs. I would talk to them as if they were people, and in their own way, they always answered.

One summer, as soon as I could walk on my own, I spotted a tiny white puppy at my grandmother’s neighbor’s house. I scooped it into my arms and refused to let go until my grandmother, smiling at my determination, gave her approving nod. That’s how I met my very first best friend.

Dogs have been my greatest passion ever since.
As philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer once said: “Anyone who has never owned a dog can’t know what loving and being loved really means.” To our faithful four-legged friends, we are their whole world – their love is unconditional, pure, and without limits.

How Wagging Tail Began

Years later, Grikis, a spirited Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, bounded into my life. He brought joy, chaos, and endless inspiration – and became the heart and face of Wagging Tail. Wanting the very best for him, I began creating my own quality, unique accessories. When Grikis approved (with an enthusiastic tail wag), I knew I had to share them with others.

The name “Wagging Tail” was inspired by Kinky Friedman’s words: “Money can buy you a fine dog but only love can make him wag his tail.” That love is what we pour into every product – because when your dog feels it too, both of you are happier.

The Poodle Collection

Although Wagging Tail began because of Grikis, the journey soon took an exciting turn. I once enrolled in dog grooming courses – and even though I didn’t stay in the profession, I met extraordinary groomers who specialized in poodles. Their passion for the breed was infectious, and it sparked the idea for our poodle collection.

We began designing collars and accessories tailored especially for poodles – elegant, functional, and full of personality. What started as a side project quickly became our most beloved and popular line, adored by poodle parents near and far.
